various qualifying criteria to past results. What we were looking for was a
system that was not only profitable but also achieved a very high strike rate.
We also wanted the qualifying criteria to be easy to understand and implement.
It was during our ongoing analysis of literally thousands of different methods
that we noticed a trend forming amongst horses that had won their last race.
They followed up with a win next time out a lot less often than their odds
suggested they should. Further detailed analysis revealed that this trend was
particularly prevalent in certain races when other qualifying conditions were
met. The end result of our detailed research and analysis was a system with a
proven track record going back more than three years and with just seven easy to
